Michele Maiers, DC, PhD, MPH,  presented in a panel discussion and displayed a poster at the 2025 International Congress on Integrative Medicine and Health. Held in Seattle, the theme was “Leaders & Learners: Advancing Whole Health Together.”

Dr. Maiers presented on a panel entitled “Leaders and Learners: Research Training and Capacity Building at CIH Institutions through the RAND REACH Center.” NWHSU is a member of the REACH Center. She also presented a poster on the checklist for promoting health equity research.

The International Congress on Integrative Medicine and Health is organized by the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health. The consortium is comprised of academic health centers and health systems with an interest in complementary and integrative healthcare (CIH).

“It is gratifying to see traditional institutions and those with CIH interests come together to advance the state of the science, clinical care, and policy around CIH.”

said Dr. Maiers, who also noted that the conference is a great  opportunity to network with research-intensive institutions, VA providers, and staff and representatives from the NIH. She hopes the connections she made with emerging CIH leaders could lead to collaborative opportunities in the future.
