Great River Symposium

The 2025 Great River Symposium is May 2-3, 2025. This hybrid event welcomes acupuncture and Chinese medicine professionals back to the campus of Northwestern Health Sciences University while allowing the flexibility for people to join via livestream.

The Great River Symposium will give you the opportunity to:

Reconnect with fellow acupuncture and Chinese medicine professionals and celebrate our strong community.
Learn from each other and some of the brightest leaders in our field as we earn 12 acupuncture PDAs.

Take the time to focus on your personal and professional development, uncover new ways to help and heal your patients, and experience meaningful growth in the company of professionals like you.

Keynote: Randine Lewis, PhD, L.Ac.

On Friday, May 2, Randine Lewis will lead a 4-hour session on Daoist Death Medicine. This is a morning of learning that could change the way you think about end-of-life care. Her newest book, Daoist Death Medicine: Navigating the Death Canal with Alchemical Acupuncture, has been called “brilliant” and may help us accept death with more patience, inner peace, and balance.

The modern death care landscape is undergoing significant transformation, and Chinese medicine is uniquely poised to offer valuable support in this shift. Join Dr. Lewis and delve into the cultural attitudes and fears surrounding death, which influence contemporary medical approaches to dying.
